Here you can learn more about reserving a room. You still need to e-mail Lisa Brown or call her at 352-372-2900 to make a reservation. Please note that all requests must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the proposed meeting or event.

Fees for space: UF Hillel room rentals are free for all Jewish student groups recognized by local colleges and universities.  For all other groups, the following discounts and rates apply:

  • All non-Jewish student groups receive a 25% discount on room rental.
  • Any non-student group associated with UF or Santa Fe receives a 25% discount.
  • Groups in the Gainesville Jewish community receive a 25% discount.

Please note that the above rates include rental for a set number of hours, depending on the room:

Living Room, Conference Room – 3 hours

Sports Lounge – 4 hours

Entire Building, Dining Room, Library, East Multipurpose, West Multipurpose – 5 hours

Additional hours will be added at the same cost (for example, it will cost an extra $750, or $300 if the summer rate applies, to rent the Dining Room for an additional one to five hours).

The building is open for programs on Jewish holidays but is closed for national holidays.  The administrative offices are closed for Jewish holidays and national holidays.
Summer Hours (May-July, early August, winter and spring break)
Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: Open by request for specific programs

There will be a $25.00 an hour surcharge fee for events going past business hours on weekdays or taking place on a Saturday or Sunday.

Weekend events require a minimum four-hour rental.

Free WiFi is available throughout the building. UF Hillel does not provide laptops, although we do provide AV equipment which comes with room rental at no extra cost.

This area is beautifully designed to take advantage of the sunlight on the north side of the building to create a relaxing environment to study, work on the computers provided, or utilize our wireless internet on your laptop.  The living room is a wonderful place to rest, relax, and recharge during the day.  At night it provides a wonderful venue for small meetings, group projects, small musical groups or open mic nights.  This room can fit between 15 - 30 people comfortably. The Selevan, Setzer, and Dubow Dining Room is housed in the first floor of Norman H. Lipoff Hall.  This 3,000 square foot room offers a view of the northern part of campus with large shaded windows.   Any meals served in the dining room must be catered by The Olam Cafe. The University of Florida Hillel Rose Colen Library is located on the second floor of Norman H. Lipoff Hall. The books are classified in sections so they are easy to find by topic.  The library has Judaica books ranging from Jewish cooking to Jewish history and much more. The books are available for use within the library. To check out a book, please see Lisa. This room can facilitate a lecture for up to 100 people, a meeting for up to 50 people, or small weddings/simchas.

This room has a 61-inch plasma TV and a kitchenette for lunch food service. It is a wonderful venue for a cocktail party up to 100 people.  Painted orange and blue, this Gator room is filled with sports memorabilia and lots of special Gator pieces. While the standard setup involves bar stools and high top tables, the room can be adjusted as needed. This room is often utilized as the cocktail reception part of an event that is hosted in the multi-purpose rooms.  To view a tour of the Sports Lounge click here.

If you need space for a meeting where you need everyone to pay attention, then this conference room is perfect. It comes complete with a phone for conference calls, a smart board for your presentations, a conference table that seats up to 15 participants, and a buffet table with space for both refreshments and buffet-style service. Located on the second floor of Norman H. Lipoff Hall, this 3200 square foot room provides a beautiful view of campus on the western and southern walls. This room, which can be split into two separate smaller rooms, can host a banquet for up to 180 people. Each side of the room can host its own 90 person banquet or provide a lecture facility for 120. The large room offers complete audiovisual equipment including an 8 ft x 10 ft movie screen, microphone access, ability for PowerPoint presentations or DVDs, and much more.  When split in half, the a/v equipment is available only in the West Multipurpose room.  To view a tour of the Multi-Purpose Room, click here.
