UF HILLEL CARES
COVID-19 RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS
For the latest information about University of Florida's COVID-19 response, please visit coronavirus.ufl.edu
Hillel is working hard to support students during this difficult time. We're particularly concerned about students in isolation and quarantine who need additional resources. Our team of professional staff and student leaders are striving to meet students' evolving needs and appreciate your input on how we can best serve our community.
UF Hillel Cares: COVID-19 Care Packages and
Shabbat and Holiday Meals
Hillel is here to care for the many Jewish students in Gainesville during this uncertain time. We're pleased to be able to offer FREE build-your-own Care Packages and FREE Shabbat and Holiday meals to students in isolation and quarantine.
Build-Your-Own Care Packages feature your choice of matzo ball soup (kosher), orange and blue Gatorade, snacks, cough drops, and other necessities to bring care and comfort during this time.
Shabbat and Holiday meals, as well as the soup, are kosher and catered by Gili's Kitchen.
To order a COVID-19 Care Package or Meal, please click on the blue box below to access the order form. Once submitted, someone from our team will follow up with you within 24 hours to confirm the details. If you have any questions, please contact Nicole Vitt at nvitt@ufhillel.org.
We strive to ensure packages are delivered directly to students within 48 hours through contact less delivery. Please understand this may not be possible on Shabbat and holidays.
Emergency COVID Financial Assistance Grants for Students
These are difficult times for many in our community. UF Hillel is pleased to have secured resources to provide emergency financial assistance to UF Jewish students in need during this uncertain time. Funds are limited and we trust that students will only apply for funding if they are experiencing an overwhelming financial burden. Until funds run out, we will be able to offer up to $250 per student.
Hillel's Mitzvah Corp: Gators Helping Gators
In keeping with the Jewish value of caring for the sick, healthy students interested in volunteering to help assist with contactless delivery and package assembly are encouraged to contact Ashley Jones at ajones@ufhillel.org. You do not need to have a car to volunteer! This is also a great opportunity for those who have recovered and might consider "paying it forward" to help others.
Please consider helping us keep UF's Jewish community safe and cared for by making a gift today.
For parents, of current students, we invite you to consider membership in the
UF Hillel Parents' Society as a token of your gratitude.
As a member of the Parents' Society, you are ensuring that your student, and thousands more, has an active Jewish Community to be a part of during their college experience. The Parents' Society helps you remain connected through different opportunities.
